The Viridian Conscripts is a militaristic faction. Masters of mass mobilization and ground warfare, the Conscripts field overwhelming armies of infantry and fighter swarms, making them nearly impossible to dislodge from entrenched positions.

1. Faction Abilities

Conscription
When you produce infantry, you may place 1 additional infantry from your reinforcements on a planet you control or in the space area of that system.
Manual Operators
When you place a structure on a planet, also place 1 infantry from your reinforcements on that planet.
Entrenchment
When other players' units use BOMBARDMENT or ANTI-FIGHTER BARRAGE against your units, apply -1 to the result of each die roll.

ACTION: Place this card face-up in your play area. When you produce infantry, you may place 1 additional infantry from your reinforcements on a planet you control or in the space area of that system. Return this card to the Viridian Conscripts player at the start of the Status Phase.

Umbral (2/1) — A darker, denser twin world, its canopy so thick that orbital surveys have never produced an accurate map of its surface.

Every World an Affront

The Viridian Conscripts do not conquer worlds. They convert them. Where other factions see a planet as territory to be held or resources to be extracted, the Conscripts see potential — raw biological substrate waiting to be seeded, shaped, and drawn into the great living network that connects every member of their kind. Verdania and Umbral were once two separate worlds with two separate ecologies. They are now one organism expressed across two surfaces, their atmospheres chemically synchronized, their soils exchanging microbial intelligence across the void between them.

Their expansion is not driven by ambition in any conventional sense. There is no emperor who desires more, no council that votes for war. The imperative is older and simpler than politics: life spreads. The Conscripts are merely life's most organized expression of that truth. Every world they reach is remade in careful, patient stages — first the soil, then the atmosphere, then the creatures, then the people. By the time any resistance forms, the planet is already breathing differently.

The Thornborn

A species — or rather a network of species — that no longer draws a clean line between organism and ecosystem. Thornborn are tall, plant-adjacent humanoids with dense chlorophyll-rich pigmentation ranging from deep forest green to mottled olive and black. Their skin has a faintly fibrous texture, almost bark-like at the joints. Hair, where present, grows in dense root-like clusters. Their eyes are large and multifaceted, evolved for tracking movement across the synchronized twin-world ecosystem. Infantry conscripts are broad and heavily muscled, built for the biological imperative to spread and hold ground; the planet-born officer class tends to be taller and more slender, their augmented nervous systems interfaced with the mycorrhizal communication network.
