The Nullspace system contains no planets — only a pair of wormholes opening onto destinations that have never been consistently mapped, and a silence that long-range instruments register as the absence of something that should be there. The background starfield is slightly wrong, as though the system exists at an angle to the rest of the galaxy. Instruments register the system as containing something that is not matter and is not vacuum — a category of presence that no existing taxonomy accounts for.
No surface to describe. No sky to paint. Only the wormholes, the silence between them, and whatever it is that the silence is made of. What instruments have managed to register is a spatial wrongness — a region of space that is perceptibly darker than the surrounding void, its edges unstable, its boundary impossible to define cleanly. The Null do not explain it. They have never been asked in terms they chose to acknowledge.
